AfroditiKrassa has been commissioned to design the Independent Hotel Show’s key networking area, The Hub. Inspired by the ephemeral nature of the event, we designed an imaginary hotel that is entirely built out of lightweight, transparent fabric. Utilising the latest digital fabric printing technology, this ghost-like imaginary hotel is hanging prominently in the centre of the space, creating a real showpiece for the Show. A dream project, literally.

New Brand & Restaurant Design for Café Rouge
The Tragus Group approached us 6 months ago with the task of revolutionising this iconic and hugely popular restaurant brand. Our new brand and restaurant design scheme is inspired by classic, urban Parisian bistros and has just been launched in Café Rouge Southgate, with plenty more sites to follow shortly.
We will keep you updated on this 4 year long and exciting project but, in the meantime, do pop into the new restaurants and let us know what you think.
itsu Cool Brands
Great news, itsu is now part of UK’s CoolBrands, the official barometer of Britain’s coolest brands, people and places.
AfroditiKrassa created the original branding back in 2004 and has continuously been involved in the development of the overall concept and future direction of all aspects of branding and design. We are truly proud to see what started as a small shop on the ground floor of Vogue House turn into one of the UK’s most recognisable brands. Well done to the whole itsu team!
Virtus – Workplace Design
It is always nice when good, old friends get together and this is the case with our latest project.
We have been working with Virtus for many years and we were delighted to be invited to design their new offices in the coolest of buildings on Market Place, W1.Virtus designs and builds cutting edge data centres across the country, mind boggling places.
We called our good friend and very talented photographer Gareth Gardner for some help. Together, we travelled to the heart of Virtus’ business, a massive datacentre in the outskirts of London. We spent a day in the wilderness, looking for beauty in bunches of cables, metal clad warehouses and towers of data. The steely, cold, almost ethereal stills of new life were so captivating that we could not resist sharing them before the end of the project.

Oriel, shortlisted for Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2012
We have done it again, second year running! Oriel in Terminal 3, Heathrow has been shortlisted for Best Restaurant Design at the very prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.
The design for this Art Deco inspired brasserie features some striking, unique finishes and features and we are very honoured that the judges thought so too!
As far as the saying goes, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! And we were totally flattered to discover one of our signature collection pieces in the form of moss street art in a cool part of Brooklyn, NY. The work has been created by the infamous & mysterious street artist Mosstika, do check all his other works here.
Mosstika, you are a star, we absolutely love it! BTW, if interested in the original design, please check our Pretty Big Wall
The future of hotel design for Tablet Hotels
Boy, oh boy, it is summer, it is hot and all we’ve been doing is daydreaming!
On a serious note, the task for Tablet has not been easy: to find the holy grail of urban hospitality: a hotel where guests mingle freely with locals, and with other guests. Based in Chelsea, NYC, our concept is suitably quite Rock n’ Roll.
Oriel, Brand & Restaurant Design
Finally, Oriel is back.
This Sloane Square institution has been one of London’s most loved brasseries for almost a quarter of a century. The Tragus Group approached our studio with a simple brief: to relaunch this iconic restaurant. And we did, with great pleasure too.
Wow, what a year!
2011, what a year this has been! We launched several new concepts for start-ups and for some of the big guys too: Coco Di Mama, Gelato Mio, itsu, Obsidian Group, Tragus Group. We won pitches and awards, moved our home to the Great Western Studios, threw a cool Summer Party and welcomed some very talented, new family members. Above all, we worked hard, played even harder and celebrated the end of the year in a very befitting way: a massive table for more than a 100 fellow Great Westerners was laid out in the Atrium loaded with roast, trimmings and some naughty pressies.
Goodbye 2011 & welcome 2012!
Designs for London – Lovely Jubbly!
Trying to find Modern London in this ancient map has proved weirdly addictive. Summer has come and almost gone and our studio has been working day and night in transforming the face of our favorite city… or at least the sites that are indicated on this relic of time. From brasseries to grills and sushi bars to vietnamese kitchens, we have more than 10 restaurants opening within 2011. We feel so privileged to play a tiny part in the history of this great city. Lovely jubbly, indeed!
itsu Berkeley Square-ready for take off!
Itsu berkeley square, here we come!
Nothing can be more satisfying that picking up where you left off. Having created the original branding and retail design identity for the internationally loved itsu brand, we were called to come back and help the company move on to the next level. With very ambitious expansions plans, our brief was simple: help us grow to what we want to be. And we happily obliged.
Check out the new design which will launch this summer on the sunny side of Berkeley square.
Dishoom, shortlisted for Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2011

Coco Di Mama – Food, Fun, Fashion
We had a lot of fun creating this range of cool photography for Coco di Mama, the new kid on the block of Italian eateries. But it is not all fun and games, we got our hands dirty too. We had to come up with the name, strapline, branding, interiors, packaging, in-store graphics, marketing and advertising material. Ah, we also art directed the website. So, we are naturally very excited to see it all coming to life.

Dishoom shortlisted for Best New Restaurant Design by Time Out Eating & Drinking Awards 2010
A drink to all of us, because we all deserve it.
After 2 years of hard work, we can all put our feet up for a minute. Dishoom, one of Afroditi’s most recent brand identity and restaurant design projects, just got shortlisted for Best New Restaurant Design by Time Out. The Time Out Eating & Drinking Awards are London’s most respected restaurant and bar awards and here at the studio, we are totally ecstatic that we are shortlisted for none other than the Best New Restaurant Design category.

New Brand Identity and Retail Design Project for Afroditi Krassa
The studio has won a new brand identity and retail design project and we are very excited about it. Retail design is a tricky business but it is something we love doing. Afroditi has been given the challenge of creating a brand from scratch and then translating it to a retail interior for a completely new concept business. It is too early to reveal more, but with a launch date set for the end of 2010, a centrally located site and a revealing photo such as this one, it will not be long before you all find out about it.
