Cassina ixc, the Japanese arm of Italian superbrand Cassina, invited Afroditi to submit a range of chair concepts. Both proposals celebrate Cassina’s expertise in upholstered technologies, as well as taking into consideration local cultural idiosyncrasies. Concept 007 is designed to be viewed from a low eye level, as it is still very common for Japanese people to sit on the floor, regardless of the invasion of Western furniture. Concept Diamond Cut toys with the notion of lightness and flotation, both strong element of Far East cultures.
