Spanish Inquisition is a pendant lamp hung in an angle to create the lighting effect of a spotlight. So much effort goes into making sure that lampshades lie horizontal, yet so often they don’t. Afroditi first made this observation, one night whilst watching Little Britain on TV. The iconic image of old, broken lampshades hanging off-balance provides an unusual, if not ironic, antidote to the very technical looking, typical spotlight designs. The lower part of the shade is dipped in gold paint to emphasize the horizon line.
The product was featured at 100% Design 2006.
