Top Tilt Antocks Lairn

This is Afroditi’s first product to go into production in 1996, aged 21.
Antocks Lairn, a British office furniture manufacturer asked for a simple, low cost, occasional, use conference table. They got a design for a simple, low cost, occasional use, conference table. Thanks to its triangulated footprint, it is a totally balanced, freestanding object in its folded state, allowing for easy storage, and can be carried and erected by just one person, in less than a minute. It sounds simple. It took several months spent in their High Wycombe factory, observing machinery and craftsmen at work and getting her hands dirty on the welder (much to the satisfaction of her male co-workers)
A batch of 12 was hand made for Professor Margaret Buck OBE, former Head of Central St Martins College of Art and Design.
