CONTRACT/FREELANCE SENIOR HOSPITALITY INTERIOR DESIGNER

AfroditiKrassa is the interior and brand design studio behind some of the most iconic hospitality projects of the past decade; from dining phenomenon Dishoom, to the nation’s latest staple diet itsu, Heston Blumenthal’s The Perfectionists’ Café and the reinvention of Curzon Cinemas. We work with the industry’s luminaires and current clients include celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and ultra-luxury hotel operator Rosewood Hotels.

Our studio has created a strong reputation for highly creative and meticulously detailed interior and we are looking to expand our close-knit team with an ambitious Senior Interior Designer (minimum of 5 years of relevant experience). The ideal candidate must be able to take projects from beginning to end, lead creatively, understand materials, sourcing, manufacturing and production and have an immaculate eye for detail. You would have the ability to come up with overarching creative directions, develop and deliver interior design schemes of the highest quality; with a strong focus on client and contractor liaison, design development and site implementation.

The role will cover the areas below:

  • Enthusiastic, ambitious, hardworking and meticulous Interior Designer/Project Lead
  • 5+ Years of experience in the hospitality design sector
  • Experience in FF&E, sourcing, coordination and scheduling
  • Must have the ability to produce detailed drawing packages
  • An excellent understanding of joinery construction and materials, ability to co-ordinate, liaise with contractors, red-mark construction drawings and manage internal design teams
  • Excellent CAD skills, good knowledge of Vectorworks is a must
  • Able to represent the studio, lead projects and internal teams and contribute to our high professional standards and reputation

General Manager

Posted: 10/07/2019 AfroditiKrassa is growing with new projects coming up and are looking for a General Manager, who will be responsible for leading the Finance, Resourcing, New business, HR, Client account management and Administration side of the business.

AfroditiKrassa is the interior and brand design studio behind some of the most iconic hospitality projects of the past decade; from dining phenomenon Dishoom, to the nation’s latest staple diet itsu, Heston Blumenthal’s The Perfectionists’ Café and the reinvention of Curzon Cinemas. We work with the industry’s luminaires and current clients include celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and ultra-luxury hotel operator Rosewood Hotels.

The role requires an experienced manager who is entrepreneurial, a multi-tasker and self-driven with a hands-on approach. Ambition, attention to detail, problem-solving and facilitating the creative process is a must.

A background in hospitality and/or the creative industries, a clear head for numbers, highly-organised and strong multi-tasking skills will be essential; someone who enjoys acting on their own initiative and working closely with the director, who can prioritise amongst the wide range of tasks and is good at dealing with people and creating a culture within a busy, young studio. It requires excellent communication, perfect level of English, organisational and social skills.

New business

  • Initial screening of new business
  • Assisting the director in meetings, and follow up
  • Client facing and new business queries handling
  • Preparing proposals, scope of works documents, propose timelines, bid submissions and follow up
  • Contract management

HR/Resourcing

  • Planning and supporting studio’s skill set growth and personal growth of employees
  • Nourishing and building on studio’s culture
  • Managing project resourcing and planning of future HR requirements
  • Monitoring staff timesheets and expenses
  • Staff Performance Reviews
  • Finding potential candidates proactively or via recruitment agencies
  • Organising job interviews, schedule freelancers
  • Conducting first round of interviews, inclusive of follow ups, reference letters
  • Preparing offer letters, contracts etc.

Finance

  • Monitoring company’s financial performance and cash flow
  • Identifying opportunities for growth
  • Preparing budget projections and P&Ls
  • Liaising with external accountants on all aspects of VAT and payrolls
  • Management of bookkeeping, management of our internal Xero accounting system
  • Raising of invoices and management of payments and debt

Account Management and general Office management

  • Dealing with non-creative client queries and demands
  • Monitoring project performance and expenses
  • Creating and updating project timelines
  • Updating practice policies, records and contracts
  • Liaising with external consultants and suppliers such as IT
  • Organising social events
  • Ongoing maintenance of the studio

Software

  • Xero
  • Microsoft Office
  • Excel

Excellent spoken and written English is essential, as is working in a similar role in a UK design practice.

The role is full-time, with a salary in the range of £45,000-£65,000 depending on experience.

AfroditiKrassa is currently looking for highly creative and ambitious middleweight interior designers to work on game-changing F&B projects.

We currently have a hugely exciting array of restaurant and bar projects both within the U.K. and international markets and we are looking for middleweight designers to join the creative team and work on every aspect of the design process.

You will need to have a solid background within hospitality design and must be able to bring innovative ideas to the table. You must have a well-rounded skill set and demonstrate an understanding of branded spaces, FF&E sourcing and scheduling, be technically experienced and have an excellent eye for detail. Confidence in 3D rendering, visualisation capability and CAD skills using Vectorworks is essential for this role.

You would furthermore have experience of running a project from research to concept stage until completion and are up for the challenge of leading a small team in the near future. For this role you will need to be able to represent the studio and contribute to our high professional standards and reputation. Being fluent in spoken and written English is therefore a must.
