CRAFTING A NEW DINING EXPERIENCE

While collaborating with chef Miller Prada

We weaved a story based on wood as a material and an ingredient and the endless possibilities of transformation that this humble material offers. Just like the cooking, our design is rich but single minded in its approach and based on the myriad of guises that timber can take.

We have cladded a whole wall in all the different types of wood species that Chef Miller is using for his cooking, we have burnt wood and used it to dress the lobby entrance, we have created a jigsaw wooden floor which has a unique, crafted character and finally sourced the timber for the counter top from the same farm where the food comes from.

Rich dark wood stains and black rough cut stones create additional material layers that echo the fire, ash and smoke. Finally we sensorially resonated the live flames by bringing a subtle smell of a wet forest and moss within the restaurant.
